About Us
Hi!! My name is Memory Armstrong and my husband's name is Jimmy Armstrong. We are a small hobby breeder located in Lugoff, South Carolina. We breed only color pure fawn and brindle Great Danes. We began showing Irish Setters in 1974, and showed locally for about 13 years. When our third child was born, I realized that I could not continue to hold a full time job, keep up with three children, and keep the Setters show ready, so I stopped showing and put my energies into the children's activities. I missed the show ring throughout the years. In 1994, I got my first Great Dane. His name was Thumper, he was fawn, and he was a rescue. He was my best bud and companion for 11 years. When he died he was almost 14 years old. During those 11 years we also rescued a merle (Chloe), a mantle (Duke), and a black (Allie), all of which were outlived by Thumper. When Thumper crossed the rainbow bridge, it did not take long for me to realize that life just was not complete without a Dane in it, so I began looking for a puppy. I purchased my first Dane show puppy in 2005, and was hooked again. We currently have multiple Danes who share our lives. We show our dogs throughout the Southeast. I am a member of Columbia Kennel Club, The Great Dane Club of Central North Carolina, the Great Dane Club of America, Inc., Carolinas Working Group Association, The Alaskan Klee Association of America, and I volunteer for Great Dane Rescue Alliance. We also share our home with an Alaskan Klee Kai (miniature Husky), two Yorkies, a Lab, lab/hound mix, a Pit mix, and a terrier mix. I also co-own several Chinese Cresteds with my niece, Tara Finley Doar. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about Danes, Cresteds, or AKK. We would love to talk to you, and help any way we can.
We would like to thank Jeanette Long who mentored us in the old days. Thank you to Cindy and Glenn Niske and Lorraine Rainwater for entrusting us with our first Dane show puppy, and for helping us so much when we returned to dog shows. We would also like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all those who have befriended us and helped us along the way. They are too numerous to list here, and we wouldn't want to leave anyone out. Your help and support have been immeasurable, especially while we were ill. God bless you all!! We couldn't be where we are without you!! We would also like to convey our appreciation for the support of the entire Great Dane community. You have made us feel very welcome and we are proud to be considered your friend and colleague. See you ringside!!!
